We celebrated an incredible group of Mariners as we honored our 5th Grade Class of 2026 at graduation!

This class has helped make this one of the most successful years in Memminger history. They have grown academically, demonstrated outstanding leadership, excelled in the arts and athletics, and most importantly, shown kindness and character each and every day.

Before graduation, our 5th graders also showcased their learning through the IB Exhibition process, presenting projects that reflected months of inquiry, research, collaboration, and action. Their presentations highlighted not only what they have learned, but also how they are prepared to make a positive impact on the world around them.

We were also proud to recognize our Compass Award recipients, students whose leadership, integrity, resilience, and compassion help point others in the right direction.

As our graduates leave for middle school, they do so prepared for whatever lies ahead. We are proud of the young people they have become and excited to see all they will accomplish in the years to come.

To our graduates: thank you for the memories, the laughter, and the impact you have had on our school. Once a Mariner, always a Mariner.

We are incredibly proud of you and can't wait to see where your journey takes you next!

What better way to wrap up an incredible school year than with a surprise Faculty Talent Show!

Our students were treated to an unforgettable performance as Memminger staff took the stage to showcase their hidden talents, dance moves, and plenty of school spirit. The excitement reached another level with a special guest appearance by Kyle K'Otic, who helped make the event even more memorable for our Mariners.

Laughter, music, and lots of cheering filled the room as students saw their teachers in a whole new light. It was the perfect way to celebrate a year filled with hard work, growth, and achievement.

Thank you to our amazing faculty for stepping outside their comfort zones and creating such a fun experience for our students. Memories like these are what make Memminger such a special place to learn and grow!

What an incredible week of learning and creativity for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students during our artist residency through Engaging Creative Minds!

Students explored the science and art of natural dyes through hands-on experiments using indigo dye, screen printing, clay resist techniques, and fabric dyeing with cochineal, madder root, and osage orange. Students tested how colors changed when dipped into iron baths, citric acid, soda ash, and calcium carbonate while making predictions, recording observations, and comparing results.

Throughout the week, students practiced the scientific method by forming hypotheses, investigating cause and effect, analyzing evidence, and reflecting on their findings like real scientists. It was amazing to see our students combine creativity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry in such an engaging way.

A huge thank you to our PTO for funding our residencies this year, our incredible artist in residence and everyone who helped make this meaningful experience possible for our students!

Our second grade readers had a paws-itively wonderful time at our last book club of the year. Every Thursday, students have had the opportunity to curl up with a good book and enjoy great company with our therapy dogs Baylee and Charlie.

At Memminger, so much of what makes our school special happens behind the scenes. Thank you to the countless individuals who work every day to help our school thrive and create incredible experiences for our students and families.

A special shoutout to our district carpentry team for helping install our beautiful new schoolwide art installation in the main stairwell. This piece represents every single student in our school, and we are so grateful for the care and craftsmanship that helped bring this vision to life. Thank you for helping make Memminger an even more special place for our students!
