TODAY'S FORECAST: Short Term:
Rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected today.
Some storms later today could be strong to severe.
Damaging winds is the primary hazard, while some hail could also occur.
Heavy rain is possible once again today, with flash flood concerns continuing.
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for much of the area until 2 AM Thursday.
Shower/storm chances steadily taper from north to south throughout tonight.
High temperatures today will be near normal.

Outlook:
The chance for rain lingers Thursday morning across southern WV and southwest VA.
Mainly dry conditions then persist across the area into at least early next week.
Seasonable temperatures continue.

FLOOD WATCH, STORMS CONTINUE TODAY: A Marginal Risk for Severe Thunderstorms is in place across much of the area today.
The Flash Flood Watch remains unchanged, running until 2 AM Thursday morning.
WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS / IMPACTS
Rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected today.
Some storms this afternoon and evening could be strong to severe.
The primary hazard is damaging winds, although some hail could also occur.
Heavy rain is likely within thunderstorms, with flash flooding concerns continuing across the region.
Areas that have received heavy rainfall in the past few days will be most susceptible to flooding.
Showers and storms will steadily taper off from north to south late this evening through tonight.
Mainly dry weather is expected from Thursday into early next week.

Thereafter, a meandering front will bring additional rounds of showers and some storms through Wednesday. Locally heavy downpours could lead to instances of flash flooding, especially on Wednesday. Areas that have received heavy rainfall the past few days will be most susceptible to flash flooding. A cold front will then push south of the area for Thursday and Friday, bringing dry weather for much of the region. Remember - Turn Around, Don’t Drown!

FLOOD WATCH FOR TOMORROW: A Flood Watch has been issued for central and northern West Virginia, southeast Ohio, and portions of northeast Kentucky from Wednesday morning through Wednesday night.
A Slight Risk of Excessive Rainfall will be in place across these same areas on Wednesday.
WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS / IMPACTS
What: Flash flooding is possible due to rounds of heavy rainfall.
When: Wednesday morning through Wednesday night.
Confidence: Medium to High.
