United Way of Central WV

United Way of Central WV Welcome to the United Way of Central West Virginia's page! We take immense pride in the impactful work we do. Say YES to make a difference today!

The Community Impact Fund is a direct support system for 40 programs that receive funding from United Way of Central West Virginia through our annual Citizens Review Process. This process ensures that your contribution goes exactly where it is needed most in our communities. Our commitment to our funded partners extends beyond financial support - we also provide ongoing support and monitoring to ensure they achieve their desired outcomes. At United Way of Central West Virginia, we are dedicated to working tirelessly to meet the ever-changing needs of our communities in Kanawha, Putnam, Boone, Braxton, Clay, and Logan counties. IMPACT: Every year, the donations we receive during our Annual Campaign go towards funding programs and agencies in the following calendar year. In 2022, our supported programs served a total of 75,960 individuals within our service area, achieving the following outcomes:

• 46,919 individuals received support for health-related issues, including crisis counseling, healthcare or dental care, and protection from abuse.
• 19,888 individuals received assistance in the form of financial stability and safety nets, such as disaster relief, utility support, basic needs provision, supplemental food, shelter programs, and clothing assistance.
• 2,226 children participated in education programs that promoted academic growth, positive relationships, confidence, and leadership skills outside of school hours.
• 6,927 individuals benefited from our Information and Referral services, including the annual Christmas Bureau.
• 99% of the individuals served are living in poverty as defined by the federal poverty levels. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our donors and volunteers for their unwavering support in helping us serve the community through the United Way of Central West Virginia.

When our neighbors need help, our community responds. 💙❤️💛

United Way of Central West Virginia is proud to work alongside Vandalia Health CAMC and our community partners to support disaster response efforts across our region.

Last week some members of our team joined together to help get much-needed supplies where they can make a difference for individuals and families impacted by recent events.

It’s partnerships like these, and people willing to step up when they’re needed most - that show what it means to LIVE UNITED.

Thank you to Vandalia Health and everyone helping our communities recover, rebuild and move forward.

💙❤️💛 Two weeks to go!

Day of Caring 2026 is almost here!

On September 16, volunteers from across Central West Virginia will come together for the 21st year of Day of Caring - giving their time, energy and talents to make a difference throughout our communities.

Last year, 1,026 volunteers served across 64 project sites throughout our region. This year, we're looking forward to another incredible day of neighbors helping neighbors and our community united in service.

💙 Recovery doesn’t end when the floodwaters recede.

United Way of Central West Virginia is helping distribute $27,000 in flood relief funding to support Boone County communities impacted by this summer’s flooding.

These funds are helping our neighbors as they continue the difficult work of recovering and rebuilding, and we’re grateful to everyone who has contributed to making this assistance possible.

Thank you to MetroNews for highlighting the continued recovery efforts happening in Boone County.

❤️💛💙 United, we can help our communities recover and move forward.

The Market on Main raised around $13,000, while the Boone Memorial Hospital matched that number.

🇺🇸 We were honored to welcome Senator Shelley Moore Capito to our WV 211 office at the United Way of Central WV today!

Senator Capito spent time visiting with our team and learning more about how WV 211 connects West Virginians in all 55 counties to critical resources and support, both every day and during times of disaster.

“It was encouraging to see the great work being done here at West Virginia 211 today. Following the recent flooding across West Virginia, having teams like this in place to provide direct support and resources to our communities is vital. I am proud of the work being done here and deeply appreciative of United Way’s efforts to support our state at all times,” Senator Capito said.

Thank you, Senator Capito, for visiting and for your continued support of communities across West Virginia! 💙💛
