Just this year the "Democratic" candidate (who is actually a Trumper) was suspended from employment as a delinquent tax collector after trying to get the Attorney General to issue an opinion removing the requirement for an in-person tax sale and speeding them up by moving them online. This was against the instruction of his supervisor, resulting in the suspension. But more than that it would negatively impact members of our low-income communities, those living on heirs' property, and the most vulnerable in our County to tax sales during the pandemic.

Put simply, Julie Armstrong is the best Clerk of Court in South Carolina, and the "Democratic" candidate is no Democrat at all. So when you vote, vote straight ticket, but then go down and cross over for Julie Armstrong. Let's not let Trump Republicans take over our party too.

We are a group of Charleston Democrats that are very concerned about the "Democratic" candidate for Clerk of Court, and have watched and been impressed with our current Clerk of Court Julie Armstrong's handling of the office over the last several years. Not only did the "Democratic" candidate run as a Republican for Register of Deeds in 2012 and 2016 in Lexington County. He also ran, and lost a primary in 2018, as a Republican for that same office in Charleston County while supporting Trump.
