We are pleased to sponsor this special event for the Nitro Lady Wildcats! Good luck tonight ladies!

It’s GAMEDAY!!!!! Independence Lady patriots come to Allen Field for a 6:00 start. This is our last regular season home game , and to make it even more special, this evening’s game will be sponsored by Liam’s Place, LLC. This organization provides services to families going through many different issues, including but not limited to family court, abuse/neglect, substance abuse and supervised visitation issues. They provide a network for parents to assist them with parenting classes and other necessary resources to reunite and keep families together.
Lady wildcats softball will be playing for an even greater purpose this evening, raising money for the Jones Family. Their twins were born extremely premature and require a lengthy hospitalization. We will have a 50/50 drawing during the game, and also accept donations for the family. Special donations from Liam’s Place this evening are:
-$1 for every strikeout by Lena Elkins this season (currently 263)
-$10 for every strikeout in this evening’s game
-$50 for every home run ball that leaves the park 💣💣💣💣💣
The entire Jones family has supported our team over the years, and we are thrilled to do something to support them in their time of need. Come out and support and celebrate this family while you catch a great game.

ABOUT LIAM’S PLACE

The founder of Liam’s Place has been a practicing attorney for almost 20 years. She has worked in private practice as well as a prosecuting attorney in Kanawha County for five years. During her years of practice, she has tried to focus on issues dealing with children as it is her passion. On April 22, 2009, she gave birth to her first son, Liam and 17 days later he passed away. Since his death she has spent her life trying to find a way to carry on his memory.

A lot of the work she has done throughout her years as an attorney involves children that are part of our abuse and neglect system. As part of the abuse and neglect system most parents are required to see their children in a supervised setting. It came to her attention that our community was in desperate need of a facility like what Liam’s Place has become. Also, there are times in the family court setting where such services are needed and she had a dream of creating something very unique to our area.

About a year ago, she began researching the idea of opening a supervised visitation center. After much thought, she just decided this would the best way possible to carry on Liam’s memory and to really create something to help the people of our community. What started out as a dream of just opening a little supervised visitation center has grown into a place where we can offer our community a wide range of services. At Liam’s Place we offer supervised visitation, supervised exchanges, parenting, adult life skills, domestic violence classes, drug/alcohol screening and so much more.
