A jury is made up of ordinary citizens selected at random from the community. Their job is to consider all of the evidence, apply the law as the judge instructs, and render a verdict. In Missouri, a trial jury is made up of 12 jurors.

It is one of the most direct ways Missourians participate in their democracy. Missouri Courts thank all who reported for jury duty in 2025 and 2026.
