A week late but just as grateful!
Returning to Miss West Virginia after four years away was a leap of faith. I came back with more confidence, more life experience, and a renewed sense of joy for this opportunity. I returned simply hoping to give my very best and to be proud of the “Emily” I showed in every phase of competition, and hearing my name called into the Top 11 was a moment I will never forget. Standing on that stage, surrounded by so many incredible women, I felt overwhelming gratitude for how far I’ve come.
This week reminded me that growth isn’t always measured by a crown or a title. It’s found in the confidence to return, the courage to share your story, and the joy of embracing every moment along the way.
Congratulations to Lizzie on becoming Miss West Virginia. You will serve our state beautifully, and I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to share this experience with you (and have the best roommate EVER)!! Thank you for being such a wonderful roommate and an even better friend. I cannot wait to see how this year unfolds for you!
To the Miss West Virginia Organization, thank you for creating an experience that celebrates authenticity, service, and sisterhood. The support, encouragement, and opportunities you provide continue to change lives, and I am incredibly grateful to have been a small part of it.
To Special Love, thank you for allowing me to bring your mission to a new audience. I am honored to be a voice for the pediatric cancer community and to continue spreading the Special Love magic with every step.
This year, I walk away with a full heart, lasting friendships, and a renewed appreciation for the joy that this opportunity brings. Thank you to everyone who supported me, encouraged me, and believed in me along the way.
