We are still looking for a cook. Hours would be either 5:00 am to 10:00 am or 6:00 am to 11:00 am Monday thru Friday. If interested, please call the office at 304-725-1601 after 10:00 am. Thank you.

Please join us next Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026, at the annual Charles Town car show. We will have a tent set up. Stop by and say hi and perhaps sign up to volunteer in some capacity. We always can use packers, drivers, and board members.

Every now and then some negative comments show up on our page. One happened earlier today which I didn't see but someone else did. Please be assured that these negative posts are probably spam or are meant for another Meals on Wheels. We take great pride in making sure all our meals are nutritious, healthy, and plenty of portions. If you ever have any concerns about our meals or our program, please feel free to reach out to us. Time for another goodbye. Our wonderful cook, Kellie, had her last day with us today. She is moving onto another job which we know will be beneficial to her in so many ways. While we are sad to see her go, we are happy for her. She has cooked for us for over two years and each meal was prepared with love, care and concern. Our clients always came first with her. She did an outstanding job preparing healthy and nutritious meals for all our clients but especially took great care in making sure our clients with dietary needs also were taken care of. Kellie, we will miss you and thank you so much for all you did for our organization. We wish you the very best in your new position.

Today was the first day of school for Jefferson County. We wish all the students a wonderful year. We will be welcoming back our student volunteers in the near future. Everyone be safe out there and watch for school buses.

Time for a hello/goodbye. Goodbye to Sherry for filling in for us the past 8 months in the office. What started out as a short term assignment went longer than we expected but she hung in there and did a fabulous job. Enjoy your second retirement. May you always have fair winds and following seas. And a huge hello to Shana who is now working in the office. She started this week and I know she will be a huge asset to our organization. Welcome aboard, Shana.

Meals on Wheels is looking for a part time cook to work approximately 5 hours per day, Monday thru Friday. Please call 304-725-1601 between 8:00 am and 1:00 pm for further details. This includes all holidays with the exception of July 4th, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
