CRPD- Charleroi Regional Police Dept. The Regional Dept. was formed in April 2012 by merging the Charleroi and North Charleroi PD's.

We provide 24/7 police services to the Borough of Charleroi, North Charleroi Borough, Speers Borough, Twilight Borough and the Charleroi Area School District.

Just wanted to put some stats out there for some people to see.

Our Magistrate's Office has a Total of 207 CRIMINAL CASES filed year to date. Of those 207, this department has filed 144 CRIMINAL CASES.

We have also filed 896 Citations which include Traffic and Non Traffic Citations.

I think these are pretty good numbers for a small department and shows these guys are doing their jobs.

And to add to these numbers we have answered 3,819 calls for service year to date

This morning Charleroi Regional PD along with Washington County Swat Team and Detectives from the Washington Co. District Attorney's Office executed an Arrest Warrant. The individual was taken into custody without incident.

Veteran's Day Parade is this Saturday 1pm Start. Line Up is set to start around noon. The parade route is 2nd Street to 9th St on Mckean Ave. Plan accordingly because Mckean Ave will be shut down for the parade and possibly earlier when Lineup begins depending on Turn Out of participants for the parade.

Full overnight closures of eastbound and westbound Interstate 70 will occur from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Tuesday, September 27 and Wednesday, September 28. Additionally, a full overnight closure of eastbound and westbound Interstate 70 will occur, if needed, Thursday, September 29.

I-70 overnight closures posted detours:

Eastbound I-70:
• Take exit for Speers (Exit 39)
• Cross Maple Drive onto ramp for eastbound I-70
• End detour

Westbound I-70:
• Take exit for Charleroi/Allenport (Exit 40)
• Turn left onto northbound Route 88
• Turn left onto First Street
• Turn left onto Twilight Hollow Road
• Turn right onto the ramp for westbound I-70
• End detour

The closures are required to allow the contractor to place beams on the last section of the bridge that carries Route 2027 (Maple Drive) over Interstate 70

This Saturday Sept. 10th The LITTLE GREAT RACE is being held in Charleroi. There will be NO TRAFFIC on Mckean and Fallowfield Ave's from 8am until 9:15am. The streets will be shut down at First St and also 13th St. If you have something to do in town during that time please arrive before 8am. You will not get through at either location. We will also have personnel at the intersections in between stopping traffic. If you are planning on just driving through town to go other places take an alternate route.

Interstate 70 Traffic Pattern Changes and Weekend Closures
Speers Borough, Washington County

Uniontown, PA – PennDOT District 12 would like to inform motorists of upcoming changes in traffic patterns on Interstate 70 at the Speers interchange (Exit 39). This work is part of the project to replace the bridge that carries Route 2027 (Maple Drive) over Interstate 70.

Friday, August 19 at 7 p.m. through Monday, August 22 at 6 a.m. the following closures will occur:
• Route 2027 (Maple Drive) Bridge will be closed northbound and southbound
• Route 2027 South from Twilight Hollow Road and Guttman Avenue/Arentzen Blvd.
• Route 2027 North from State Street
• Interstate 70 eastbound on and off ramps to Route 2027

Route 2027 (Maple Drive) detours:

Speers side/south side of bridge to Interstate 70 east:
• Intersection Maple Drive/State Street, make right turn (southwest) on State Street.
• Continue to Dally Road (Route 2027)
• Turn left to Route 88 (Elco Hill Road)
• Continue approx.12 miles to left on Interstate 70 eastbound ramp (Exit 40)

Speers side/south side of bridge to Interstate 70 west:
• Intersection Maple Drive/State Street, make right turn (southwest) on State Street.
• Continue to Dally Road (Route 2027)
• Turn left to Route 88 (Elco Hill Road)
• Continue approx.12 miles to left on Interstate 70 westbound ramp (Exit 40)

Industrial Park/North side of bridge to Charleroi:
• Route 2027 South (Twilight Hollow Road)
• Right turn on Route 2016 (Lincoln Avenue) to Route 88 north

Industrial Park/North side of bridge to Interstate 70 East:
• Route 2027 South (Twilight Hollow Road)
• Right turn on Route 2016 (Lincoln Avenue) to Route 88 south
• Continue to Interstate 70 eastbound ramp (Exit 40)

This was taken off a Juvenile yesterday evening. If you look at it, it does look real but in fact it is a pellet gun. This has all the markings of an actual firearm. We urge parents to keep an eye on what your children are buying and/or possessing, just because it is a "toy" it does not resemble one.

Desmond Short 20 yr old from Pittsburgh has been charged with Theft From a Motor Vehicle in relation to the vehicles entered in the past couple weeks. Through the investigation a Stolen vehicle out of Glassport was recovered along with bags of personal property from victims here in town all the way to the Pittsburgh Area and also West Virginia. The property that can be identified will be returned to the rightful owner.
