Mon Valley Career & Technology Center

Mon Valley Career & Technology Center Mon Valley CTC is a vocational off-campus addition to the high schools located in the Mid Mon Valley Transportation is provided by the sending school districts.

Students in grades 10, 11, and 12 who live in the Bentworth, Beth Center, Belle Vernon, California, Charleroi, Ringgold or Monessen School Districts can choose to attend MVCTC on a half-day basis each day of the school year. First year students spend the morning at the CTC and return to their high school in the afternoon for academic instruction. Second and third year students begin the day at their high school and arrive at the CTC in the afternoon.

A rainy morning doesn't stop the progress in our Automotive shop. This group of Bethlehem-Center School District students Trent Roule, Shane Cronin, Bentley Anderson and Carson Kramich got right to work pulling this engine.

Our students are getting real-world experience learning how engines are removed, serviced, and put back into action.

🐄 We had a moo-velous visitor in Vet Science 🐮

Our students both AM and PM got some hands-on experience practicing their large animal handling skills with the help of this adorable calf! From learning proper handling techniques to building confidence working around larger animals, it was a day full of learning, laughter, and plenty of moos! 🐄❤️

Our EMS students spent today mastering some of the most critical—and physically demanding—skills they’ll use in the field: patient lifting and moving!

From navigating tight corners with a loaded gurney to conquering the dreaded stair chair, these future first responders are building the confidence, teamwork, and muscle memory needed when every second counts.

Take a look at what they worked on today:

✅The Stair Chair: Learning how to safely balance and maneuver patients up and down stairs. (And yes, they even figured out how to fold it back up without a wrestling match!

✅Gurney Operations: Practice makes perfect when it comes to smooth transitions, lifting safely, and loading patients securely into the ambulance.

✅Flipping the Script: Every student took a turn "playing the patient." Experiencing the ride firsthand helps them understand exactly what their patients feel, building true empathy for the job.

Great job today, everyone! Way to work hard and keep patient safety at the forefront.

It's a beautiful morning here at MVCTC and our Wolfpack AM students kicked off our Mon Valley CTC Skillsusa membership rally with some Friday Fun! Students from all our programs competed in some team building activities as they learned about what it means to be a SKILLSusa member.

SkillsUSA is the #1 workforce development organization for students. Students interested in joining received a sign up sheet after the assembly that does require a parent/guardian signature so Wolfpack families look for those forms this weekend.

On Patriot Day, we pause to HONOR and REMEMBER.

Today, September 11th, our WOLFPACK community joins the nation in reflecting on the events of September 11, 2001. We remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost, honor the incredible bravery of the first responders who rushed toward danger, and stand in gratitude for the service members who continue to protect our freedom.

Though our current wolfpack students were not yet born in 2001, the values that emerged from that tragic day—unity, resilience, and service to others—are alive and well in our career and technical programs here at MVCTC every day.

From our future emergency responders, firefighters, to our healthcare and service trade programs, we are incredibly proud to train the next generation of everyday heroes.

Let us use today not only to remember the past, but to renew our commitment to helping our communities and lifting each other up.
