Twenty-five years ago, September 11th changed our lives and our nation forever.

Today, we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the service members who answered our nation’s call in the years that followed.

May we never forget the courage, sacrifice, and unity that brought Americans together during one of our darkest days.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

At Geauga County Veterans Services, we believe in looking out for one another. Check your battle buddy. Make the call. Send the text. Stop by. Sometimes simply asking, “Are you okay?” can make a difference.

Ohio is proud to support the Strive for 500 campaign again this year: a nationwide initiative from the Military Women’s Memorial aiming for every state to register at least 500 military women in 2026. This effort helps preserve the stories, service, and impact of women who have served in or alongside the U.S. Armed Forces, including more than 17,000 women veterans right here in Ohio.

By registering, participants contribute to the Memorial’s National Digital Repository, ensuring their experiences are documented, honored, and accessible for future generations. Registration is free, open to all women veterans, and only takes a few minutes.
