We're hiring an Associate Director for our Geauga County office. This person will lead our community impact work in Geauga County — overseeing the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), guiding our benefits team, and building the local partnerships that connect Geauga residents to the support they need.

We're looking for someone who's both relational and rigorous: a trusted community leader who's just as comfortable with deadline-driven reporting and data as they are building relationships with partners, employers, and neighbors.

What you'll need: Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and 5+ years in community building, program administration, or partnership development, including staff supervision.

Please join us in welcoming Carrie Tollefson, our new Vice President of Major Gifts! 🎉

Carrie's career — including leadership roles at Yale, Case Western Reserve University, and the Cleveland Museum of Art — has been built on one belief: opportunity can change the course of a person's life. That conviction is personal, rooted in watching her own family rebuild after losing their farm and finding stability through education and new pathways.

At United Way of Greater Cleveland, Carrie will help donors connect their philanthropy to lasting impact, expanding pathways to opportunity across Northeast Ohio.

Welcome to the team, Carrie!

September 8 is ! You don't have to be in crisis to reach out. This year's theme is "988 Reasons: Your reason is reason enough", and it's a reminder we want every Greater Clevelander to hear.

The 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline is there for the hard days and the heavy ones, the ones you can't quite name, and everything in between. Support is real, it's available, and reaching out is always reason enough.

It was great to talk to so many community members at the Geauga County Fair today! We enjoyed sharing a booth with colleagues from University Hospitals.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth to say hi and learn about our Geauga County programs.

At our Annual Humanitarian Recognition Night yesterday, over 400 donors came together at Progressive Field. Together, this group raises over $3.2 million annually to help Greater Cleveland families achieve stability and move forward.

To our donors: thank you for your incredible dedication to transforming lives in our community! 💙

In Geauga County, public transportation is limited. When Theresa and Craig's vehicle needed major repairs they couldn't afford, it put more than their budget at risk — it put Craig's job, their groceries, even doctor visits out of reach.

When they reached out for help, one of our specialists helped them secure funding and get on a payment plan, so Craig could keep driving to work.

In a county where the nearest job, pharmacy, or grocery store can be miles away, a working car isn't optional. It's the thing that makes everything else possible.

Our 211 data shows that community challenges are often interconnected. Among callers seeking employment resources, 40% were also managing a housing-related need.

A stable job is essential, but so are affordable housing, reliable transportation, child care, and access to community resources. When one part of a family's foundation becomes unstable, the effects often extend into other areas of daily life.

That's why we work alongside nonprofit partners, employers, government agencies, and community organizations to strengthen the systems that help working families build lasting stability.
