The Veterans Service Office (formerly known as the Soldiers and Sailors Relief) was established in 1886 for the purpose of assisting honorably discharged veterans, dependents and widows, who met unexpected hardships as a result of illness, injury and or lack of employment. Each of the 88 counties on Ohio has a Veterans Service Commission comprised of five veterans of their county, which administe

r programs within their county. Our commitment is to provide assistance to all veterans and their families with information on VA benefits, financial assistance and other possible benefits.
