Happy Anniversary Self-Help!

Happy 46th Anniversary Self-Help! When Self-Help started in 1980, we believed that ownership and economic opportunity was the best way for families to build wealth and financial security and for our society to create strong, vibrant communities for all. Our experience over the past 46 years has only reinforced that belief.

We thank our members, borrowers, and partners for their continued support of our mission. We wouldn’t be Self-Help without you!

Congratulations Hope Renovations! Keep up the good work!

We’re starting the year with a win! Hope was nominated and chosen as a New Year Neighborhood Grant recipient by Nextdoor!

Nextdoor Foundation is investing in local communities across the country. As one of 100 'Neighborhood Hero' awardees, Hope has been granted $5,000 to continue our work right here at home.

We’re incredibly grateful for this support and so excited to turn this funding into real impact in our community. Thank you for believing in our work!

Local elections have a direct impact on housing affordability and how our communities plan for inclusive growth. We've created resources to make voting easy and accessible for you.

We've created a Voter Guide with dates and important information around the Election as well as the responses to a candidate questionaire from those running for office in Carrboro, Chapel Hill, and Hillsborough.
