Congrats to Arizona Department of Transportation for reaching this milestone with the Loop 202 Santan Freeway construction. We're excited to see the project's continued progress.

They’re done! No more long-term ramp closures on the Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) widening project!

Over the last year or more, you’ve patiently (and sometimes impatiently) detoured around the various on- and off-ramp closures on Loop 202 between Loop 101 (Price Freeway) and Val Vista Drive.

On June 17, we reopened the McQueen Road ramp, the last one to be reconstructed as part of this major overhaul.

There is still more work to be done on the mainline, and there will still be needed weekend ramp and mainline closures in the future. We’ll be sure to let you know when those restrictions will occur, so you can plan ahead.

The whole project will be completed in winter of 2027.

Did you know the City of Chandler offers a xeriscape conversion rebate? You can get reimbursed up to $2,000 of your landscape conversion: $1.50 per square foot of grass converted to xeriscape design.

Xeriscape design must include 50% shade canopy from low-water-use trees, shrubs and plants. Pre-approval is required!

Meet Shawn, Downtown Operations Special Events Specialist and this week's Team Chandler Spotlight 👋

If you've enjoyed a special event in Downtown Chandler or noticed how great our public spaces look, there's a good chance Shawn had a part to play in it.

Shawn helps keep Downtown running smoothly by overseeing daily operations and maintenance efforts and supporting special events. Over the years, that has included some unique assignments, like driving Santa in a golf cart to the Tumbleweed Tree Lighting & Parade of Lights! (Swipe to see photo evidence.)
