Finland and the U.S. are breaking the ice — together! 🇫🇮🇺🇸

Today, President of Finland Alexander Stubb and U.S. President Donald Trump signed a Memorandum of Understanding to lay the foundation for icebreaker cooperation between the U.S. Coast Guard and Finnish companies.

The MoU marks a step forward in strengthening ties between the two nations, including skill development and research — and reflects the joint Finnish–U.S. commitment to advancing Arctic development and security amid the region’s growing global importance.

With decades of proven expertise, Finland’s world-leading icebreaking capabilities continue to earn international trust — now further reinforced through this new U.S. partnership.
