Champaign County Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Each year, residents of Champaign County celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and honor those making a positive impact in our community.

The Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Countywide Celebration is held in Champaign County, Illinois. The Cities of Champaign and Urbana come together with Champaign County, Parkland College and the University of Illinois to honor the life and legacy of the Rev. and to recognize the recipients of the James R. Burgess, Jr. - Susan Freiburg Humanitarian Award; the Doris K. Wylie Hoskins
Prestigious Community Service Award; and the Rev. Outstanding Achievement Award.
