Used tires that are stored uncovered can collect rain water and become huge sources of Mosquito breeding. If you have old tires and aren't sure where to take them, below is a list of locations around Champaign County.

The easiest way to prevent Mosquito bites is to prevent Mosquitoes. They lay eggs and reproduce in standing sources of water and will do so in just a few days. Eliminate or continually dump sources of standing water around your property to help prevent Mosquitoes in your area.

Mosquitoes can breed in very small amounts of standing water and in a short period of time. Remember to continually dump any sources of standing water (bird baths, flower pots, buckets, tires, etc) around your yard and property.

Recent rainfall may result in increased hatching of mosquito eggs. Once a week, remember to empty, turn over, or throw out any items that hold water like tires, buckets, planters, toys, pools, birdbaths, flowerpot saucers, or trash containers.
