Champaign Unit 4 Schools Welcome to the Champaign Unit 4 Schools page! Here we will share updates, breaking news, and photos from our community schools.

ABOUT:
Champaign Community Unit School District #4 is located in Champaign County in east central Illinois. Students residing within the City of Champaign, the Village of Savoy and the Village of Bondville attend our schools. The District currently educates nearly 10,000 students in Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade and employs over 1,500 administrators, teachers, and support personnel. The Dist

rict has a $102 million operating budget and operates 22 facilities. Community Relations staff will make every effort to respond to questions on our Facebook
page within two business days. However, because our resources are limited and the question may require research, more time may be needed. Your patience is appreciated. You are always welcome to call the District directly at 217-351-3800 with time-sensitive questions. Champaign Unit 4 School District (CUSD #4) welcomes the community’s contributions to our page. However community-contributed content on this page is the opinion of the specific author and does not represent Unit 4 Schools. Champaign Unit 4 schools is not responsible or liable for the content of any separate page related in any way to CUSD #4. CUSD #4 abides by Facebook’s Terms of Service and Community Standards, and the District asks its Facebook fans to do the same. In particular, please do not post unauthorized commercial solicitations (such as SPAM); bully, intimidate, or harass any user; post content that is hateful, threatening, pornographic, or that contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence; or do anything unlawful, misleading, malicious, or discriminatory on CUSD #4’s page. CUSD #4 reserves the right, but is not obligated, to block followers/fans or remove their comments on our page that contain commercial solicitations, are factually erroneous or libelous, are clearly off-topic, or that otherwise violate Facebook's Statement of Rights and Responsibilities. The District welcomes a healthy two-way dialogue with the CUSD #4 community. However, personal insults against any individual -- whether the individual is an employee, student, parent, Board member, or other person -- are strictly prohibited. We strongly encourage all comments to be phrased respectfully, factually and constructively. By signing the permission form/media release distributed at registration, a parent or guardian gives permission to have the student’s picture taken by Unit 4 employees or student teachers while involved in a District-sponsored activity and/or to use samples of his/her work. The pictures might be used in form of videos, photographic displays, or pictures in newspapers, magazines or reports or school sponsored Internet sites. The purpose of using the pictures is to help further the cause of better education through awareness. To opt out on behalf of a student, the parent should not sign the permission form/media release.

Today marked an exciting step forward for accessibility and inclusion in our community as leaders gathered for the groundbreaking of the new All-Abilities Activities Hub at the Champaign-Urbana Special Recreation Center. Funded through the State of Illinois OSLAD grant program, this inclusive outdoor space will create opportunities for recreation, connection, and play for individuals of all ages and abilities.

Champaign Unit 4 Schools was proud to support this important community project. The land used for the access improvement project south of Jefferson Middle School was formerly owned by Unit 4 and was transferred to the Park District to help make this vision possible. Acting Superintendent Dan Casillas represented Unit 4 at today’s ribbon-cutting ceremony as we continue supporting efforts that strengthen accessibility and intergovernmental support with community partners.

Governor JB Pritzker joined local leaders and community partners to celebrate the project, which will feature accessible playground equipment and welcoming spaces designed to bring children of all abilities together.
