Our 14th HACC YouthBuild cohort wraps up this week! To celebrate all their hard work and accomplishments, we took the students to Timber Pointe Lake for a fun-filled day together. We had an amazing time making memories and celebrating how far they have come!

School may be wrapping up, but two YouthBuild students are still hard at work! They repaired a wobbly bench, puttied and smoothed screw holes, painted tables, and practiced their math skills while measuring and placing numbers.

They did the cutting, measuring, and hands-on work themselves, asking for help when needed. We are proud of their hard work, determination, and willingness to keep learning!

Congratulations to our Champions of the Month, Malika Alexander and Eugene Jackson! 🎉

Malika’s dedication, positive attitude, and strong work ethic have made a lasting impact at HACC. We are excited to celebrate her transition from HCV Specialist to Lead Compliance Specialist and cannot wait to see her continue to grow and shine in her new role!

Eugene’s reliability, attention to detail, and willingness to help keep our properties safe and welcoming. Much of his work happens behind the scenes, but his dedication, skill, and commitment never go unnoticed.

As part of its Transportation Assistance program, the RPC is hosting a special walk-in event to help eligible Champaign County residents obtain vehicle repair assistance. Scheduled for Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 9am to 3pm at the RPC’s main office in Urbana (1776 E. Washington Street), the event will approve 25 applicants on a first-come, first-served basis.
