Friends of Embry Hills Library Friends of Embry Hills Library, INC. Friends of the Library groups are composed of volunteers who support their local library branches.

is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was formed to support Embry Hills Library, a branch of DeKalb Public Libraries, GA. Membership is open to all. The mission of the Friends of the Library is to promote interest in, use of, and public support for the DeKalb County Public Library. Friends volunteer their time and resources to help provide high quality library services, books, and materials for their community libraries.

I'm sad to write that one of our outstanding volunteers, Randall Dukes, passed away this spring. He was always there to help set up and take down our monthly book sales. He liked to help people and causes and it showed. He is survived by his wife Alice and his son Anthony, also outstanding volunteers. We will miss him.

It’s also true that the public library is the heart of a community and that our librarians keep it beating.
