Earlier today, the Franklin County Commissioners recognized Jeff Grove, who is retiring after 35 years of service to the county's Agricultural Land Preservation Board.
Jeff joined the Agricultural Land Preservation Board in the early 1990s, helping guide the program from its very beginning, and has served with dedication and consistency throughout more than three decades of protecting Franklin County’s agricultural heritage. During that time, the Agricultural Land Preservation Board has worked to preserve thousands of acres of farmland, reaching significant milestones of 5,000, 10,000, and now more than 20,000 acres preserved, ensuring that agriculture remains a vital part of the county’s economy, landscape and identity.
Through the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program, the Preservation Board has helped safeguard working farms for future generations, supporting local farmers while protecting valuable agricultural soils and rural character. Jeff’s commitment to this mission has helped guide the program through decades of growth, partnership and continued success.
For 35 years, Jeff has contributed thoughtful leadership, careful stewardship and a deep appreciation for the importance of agriculture in our community. The Agricultural Land Preservation Board’s work has had a lasting impact on Franklin County, ensuring that farmland remains productive and protected for generations to come.
With gratitude, the county thanks Jeff for his many years of service to the Agricultural Land Preservation Board, to our farming community, and to our residents. We wish him all the best in his retirement.
