Mark your calendars!

This year's Franklin County Law Enforcement & First Responders Trunk or Treat will be held on Tuesday, October 27 from 6 to 8 pm at Chambersburg Area Middle School North.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is coordinating this event that aims to create positive connections between families and first responders and law enforcement. Representatives from several county departments will be on hand as well as other local law enforcement agencies, first responders and community organizations. Costumes are encouraged for this safe, family friendly trick-or-treat event.

Public service agencies interested in participating in this year’s Trunk or Treat should email Gage Yeager at [email protected].

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is accepting candy donations for distribution during the event. All candy must be sealed and in its original packaging. Donations will be accepted at the sheriff’s office, located at 14 North Main Street, Chambersburg, during normal business hours until Monday, October 26.

💙 Motivated Monday 💙

Today we’re recognizing one of our trainees, Dispatcher 33, for his outstanding work during a recent robbery call.

Training in emergency communications is anything but simple. No two days are ever the same. Trainees learn to answer 911 calls, prioritize emergencies, dispatch multiple police, fire, and EMS units over the radio, manage non-emergency calls simultaneously, and make critical decisions under pressure—all while remaining calm and focused.

These skills played an integral role in the successful handling of a robbery incident. Roy’s dedication to learning, ability to stay composed under pressure, and commitment to serving our community are exactly what it takes to succeed in this profession.

Congratulations, Dispatcher 33! Keep up the great work—we’re proud to have you on the team. 👏🚓📞

📞 Answer the Call! 📞

Today, we had the privilege of joining the Greencastle Cub Scout Day Camp for Day 4, where the theme was “Answer the Call.” Safe to say, that’s something we know a thing or two about! 😉

Our team spent the day teaching the Scouts about the proper use of 911, when to call for help, and what to expect when they reach a dispatcher. They also had the opportunity to tour our Mobile Command Center and learn more about the important role emergency communications plays in keeping our community safe.

Thank you for inviting us to be part of such a fun and educational day. We hope we inspired a few future first responders!
