We are so grateful for the generosity of partners like PA Health & Wellness!

On Wednesday, the Franklin County Commissioners accepted a $48,000 contribution from PA Health & Wellness to support each of the county’s eight senior activity centers. With that donation, PA Health and Wellness has now donated $96,000 to Franklin County’s senior centers in 2026.

The donation supports senior activities and needs, including the Franklin County Area Agency on Aging’s annual Fall Fest and holiday parties, senior center equipment and offsets other expenses.

“We are grateful for PA Health and Wellness’s continued generosity toward our senior centers,” said Franklin County Commissioner Chairman Dean Horst. “Their contributions this year have enabled us to keep serving our older residents, even as we navigate financial challenges and budget constraints.”

PA Health and Wellness began working with Franklin County’s Area Agency on Aging in early 2024 and now provides programing at all eight senior centers.

“PA Health and Wellness is proud to support Franklin County’s continued commitment to supporting seniors, senior centers and programs that serve older Pennsylvanians,” said Rob Cooper, PA Health and Wellness director of marketing. “These efforts are making a real difference by helping older adults stay connected, active, independent and engaged in their communities. Investing in seniors strengthens communities, reduces isolation and promotes health and well-being. Franklin County is showing what’s possible when we prioritize older Pennsylvanians and ensure they have the support and opportunities they need to thrive.”

Last week, the Tuscarora Senior Activity Center celebrated National Senior Citizens Day with a fun and memorable Sock Hop.

Several participants dressed in their best 1950s-inspired attire, adding to the festive atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed listening to classic 1950s music, reminiscing, and spending time together with friends.

Thank you to all of our participants who joined us and helped make the celebration such a wonderful success. It was a special day honoring the friendships, memories, and experiences that make our senior center such a wonderful place to be.
