Today, Pennsylvania Farm Bureau pauses to remember and reflect on September 11, 2001, a day that forever changed our nation. As we honor the memory of those who lost their lives, we also acknowledge the bravery of first responders and ordinary people who showed extraordinary courage.

We remember the victims of the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and Flight 93. Their lives were taken too soon, and their stories remain a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the strength of the human spirit.

Larry Cogan, a longtime member and leader within Farm Bureau, and his wife, Nila, live in close proximity of the crash site and recalled their memory of Flight 93 and the immediate events following the crash.

The following story is from a September 2021 issue of Positively Pennsylvania, remembering those whose lives were forever changed on September 11, 2001, on the 20th anniversary of the attacks.

On Monday, August 17, Lori and Allen Rice & children of Dream Farms in Newburg, PA, hosted a legislative tour to promote an "Agriculture First Movement". Legislative members were able to tour the farm, and also discuss high priority topics for the county including food processing residuals (FPRs), and the Transource high-voltage power line project.

Last evening the Franklin County Farm Bureau hosted its annual auction to benefit the FARM-Tastic Book program! We also celebrated with a farm bureau member appreciation ice cream social. Thank you to all the the folks who attended, all of our donations of auction items, bidders, the Franklin County Fair for hosting, and of course the ice cream, provided by Friends of Chad Reichard
