In observance of Juneteenth, Borough offices will be closed today. Juneteenth commemorates the ending of slavery in the U.S. On this day in 1865, Major General Gordon Granger (Union Army) arrived in Texas and brought news that the Civil War had ended and all slaves were free.

PennDOT and the State Transportation Commission invite you to review and comment on the draft 2027 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) during the Public Comment Period, which is open from June 15 to June 30, 2026. The draft 2027 STIP is updated every two years and consists of a list of prioritized projects and project phases identified for funding over a four-year period (the Bristol Road Extension is on the STIP list).

Flag Day marks the Second Continental Congress’ adoption of the first U.S. national flag on June 14, 1777. Thanks to Elizabeth “Betsy” Ross’ sewing prowess, the first flag was created in June 1776. The stripes represent the 13 original colonies & the stars represent the 50 states.
