As the 2024 year wraps up, I am proud of the 200,000 Americans who served through AmeriCorps. This past year:
Nearly 1,000 AmeriCorps members have supported recovery from Hurricanes Helene and Milton in Florida, North Carolina, and across the Southeast.
245,000 veterans, active duty military, and military family members served with AmeriCorps.
270,000 individuals served through opioid prevention programming.
2.2 million people received food security help from AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers.
$82.2 million tax dollars have been returned through AmeriCorps programming.
55,000 AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers provided high-impact services in more than 10,000 schools to help our nationβs young people.
Nearly 14,000 AmeriCorps members worked together to preserve public lands and waters, prevent wildfires and coastal erosion, as well as helping local governments develop climate resilience plans.
Thank you for all you do every day.
In service,
Michael D. Smith
AmeriCorps CEO
