Medicaid Day of Action: February 6

Join Advocates Nationwide to Protect Medicaid for 80 million Americans

On February 6, advocates across the United States will come together for a Medicaid Day of Action to protect Medicaid funding. Congressional leaders are currently negotiating budget reconciliation, which threatens to significantly cut Medicaid funding. These cuts could have devastating effects on millions of Americans, especially those experiencing homelessness and housing instability.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Medicaid is a lifeline for 80 million Americans, including children, seniors, and people with disabilities. It provides critical health care and access to housing, helping individuals remain stably housed and live healthier lives.

Currently, 30 states cover housing-related services through Medicaid, but this support will be threatened if states receive significantly less funding from the federal government. As Congress negotiates budget reconciliation, up to $2.3 trillion in Medicaid funding is at risk.

Low income individuals, families, and seniors will be hardest hit by cuts to Medicaid, jeopardizing their health, well-being, and housing stability. The loss of Medicaid could drive more individuals into homelessness as their medical costs become unmanageable.

TAKE ACTION ON FEBRUARY 6

We need your help to protect Medicaid and ensure that these critical services remain available. Please join us on February 6 for the Medicaid Day of Action by contacting your members of Congress and urging them to oppose any cuts to Medicaid funding.

Tattoos have always been a matter of disagreement, especially between different generations. But with time, people are becoming more open to body art. Melissa Sloan is a woman who experienced another side of body art attitude, and once she was even mistaken for a bank robber. Let's see how this mom bravely copes with societal opinions and what she has to say about stereotypes.

Volunteering improves your mental health. Volunteering promotes human connection, garners a greater sense of purpose, and promotes more happiness over time.
Volunteering is an investment in your future. Volunteering provides opportunities to develop new skills, make professional connections, stand out in the job market, and increase employment opportunities.
Volunteering is a powerful way to bridge divides. Coming together to address a shared obstacle or need can help communities overcome differences and unite under a common cause.
