📣 UPCOMING VACANCIES: Measure H Citizens Oversight Committee

The Measure H Citizens' Oversight Committee began as a result of the November 2007 election where City of Ceres' voters approved a half-cent retail transaction and use tax (sales tax) for the improvement of police, fire, and 9-1-1 emergency response. The Committee is responsible for conducting annual reviews of the expenditures made under the half-cent Public Safety sales tax.

The five (5) member committee is appointed by the City Council and meets at least twice per year. There will be two (2) vacancies on the committee, effective July 1, 2026. Both vacancies are full three-year terms. Residents of Ceres are encouraged to apply but cannot be current employees, officials, contractors or vendors of the City.
