What a great day for Wonder Roots!

I am incredibly proud of our students, especially those who chose to spend part of their summer vacation at the Farmers Market this morning. They represented Ceredo-Kenova Middle School with pride, shared their experiences with visitors, sold eggs and merchandise, and helped tell the story of what Wonder Roots is all about.

The response from the community was amazing. So many people stopped by our booth, asked questions, offered encouragement, and expressed how impressed they were with what our students are accomplishing through this program.

Thank you to everyone who purchased eggs, bought a shirt, made a donation, or simply stopped by to learn more about Wonder Roots. Your support means a great deal to our students.

We hope Wonder Roots continues to grow, our students continue to learn, and this is only the beginning. Once our ladies get back to work and the eggs start piling up again, we hope to return to the Farmers Market in a few weeks and do it all over again!

🐔🌱 Wonder Roots Student Spotlight: Jason Hardesty 🌱🐔

Tonight, Jason Hardesty represented Ceredo-Kenova Middle School and our Wonder Roots Urban Agriculture Club at the Wayne County Farm Bureau meeting.

Jason provided an update on our school chicken flock, shared exciting plans for the future of the program, spoke about our need for a larger chicken coop, and invited community members to visit us at the Ceredo Farmers Market this Saturday.

Jason did an outstanding job speaking in front of a room full of adults, confidently sharing information about a program he believes in and answering questions about our work.

As educators, we often talk about preparing students for the future. Tonight, Jason demonstrated skills that can't always be measured on a test—leadership, communication, confidence, and the ability to advocate for something he cares about.

We are incredibly proud of the way he represented CKMS, Wonder Roots, and our community.
