A cool, crisp morning spent sharing time in the garden with Master Gardeners is always time well spent. The recent refurbishment and redesign of the rain garden at the Centreville Library has left the space refreshed, welcoming, and full of life once again. The updated design adds year-round interest while beautifully complementing the charm and character of the historic library grounds.

As we worked through the garden, we uncovered a few surprises from seasons past, including spiderwort, ostrich fern, jack-in-the-pulpit, and Joe-Pye w**d. Even after all the changes, these plants reminded us that nature has an incredible will to survive and thrive when given the opportunity.

Projects like this truly take a community effort. Without the dedication of our volunteers, the support of the library, and the partnership of the Queen Anne’s County Government, this refurbishment would not have been possible. Thank you to everyone who continues to help care for and invest in this beautiful community space.
