Potential Tropical Cyclone Five has prompted a Tropical Storm Warning for the northwestern Gulf Coast, stretching from Port Bolivar, Texas, to the Vermilion/Cameron Parish line in Louisiana, with tropical storm conditions expected within the next 24 to 36 hours.
The system is currently about 130 miles south of Morgan City, Louisiana, moving west-northwest at just 5 mph with 35 mph sustained winds, and the National Hurricane Center gives it an 80 percent chance of becoming a tropical storm by tonight. Landfall along the warning area is expected Tuesday.
