Did you know that Maryland hosts closed Primary Elections?

The Democratic and Republican Parties are required to use primary elections to choose their candidates for the general election. Although it is up to the parties to decide who may vote in their primaries, generally only registered voters affiliated with the Democratic or Republican Parties may vote in that party's primary election.

The Queen Anne’s Election Board advises that due to a technical issue, voters may have been mailed an incorrect sample ballot. New sample ballots are being printed and will be mailed as soon as possible. The corrected sample ballots will say “Corrected” on the outside.

Mail-in ballots are not affected, nor will this issue affect in-person ballots during early voting or on primary election day, July 19, 2022.

Citizens may contact the Election Board at 410-758-0832 or [email protected] with questions.
