Cherokee County Severe Weather Reminder

Storms are expected to move into the area late tonight and continue into the early morning hours. Because these storms will occur overnight, it is extremely important that everyone in Cherokee County has multiple ways to receive weather warnings while sleeping.

These storms may produce damaging winds capable of causing significant damage and a few tornadoes embedded within the storm line. If a Severe Thunderstorm Warning or Tornado Watch is issued tonight, treat it seriously and be ready to move to shelter quickly, just as you would for a Tornado Warning.

Before going to bed tonight: Turn on weather alerts on your phone, Consider using a NOAA Weather Radio, Make sure alert volume is turned up, Know where your safe place is inside your home.

Cherokee County Emergency Management will be monitoring conditions overnight.
