The authority held their June meeting at the airport. Airport Manager Donnie Free, provided an overview and a tour of the general services offered, maintenance service and flight training service available. He also briefed the group on the current construction project and future plans for the facility. These are exciting times for the airport!

American Apparel is hiring assembly line workers, and our pay is based on incentive production pay. We start new employees on a production curve to work towards production, and once production is met, pay is based on production pay with the ability to earn in excess due to the productivity of the individual.

Congratulations!

It is with much pride and great pleasure that we announce the addition of the third ginning line at Cherokee Gin & Cotton Co. In 2018, Cherokee Gin made a commitment to our customers by way of building a brand new, state-of-the-art ginning facility. This commitment meant that local growers could plant as many cotton acres as they desired without worrying about the ability to get it ginned.

The 3-less-1 facility that we constructed featured two 270 saw gin stands with room to add a third without requiring a lot of civil work or the addition of pre-cleaning equipment. Since three out of the last four years we have exceeded the 75,000 bale optimum capacity of the two stand plant, we decided it was time to further our commitment! The addition of the third stand is expected to increase our capacity about 40% to approximately 9,800 bales per week. This would allow us to easily gin a 100,000 bale crop in the October thru December harvest window.

We honor the confidence that our growers place in us to gin their cotton and treasure the relationships we have with each of them. We look forward to serving them in 2022 and for many years to come. Our goal, is to exceed 90K in 2022!!!
