All county offices will be closed from 9:30 AM until 1:00 PM on Friday, May 1 in observance of the New Cherokee County Courthouse grand opening ceremonies.

UPDATE: Systems are back online.

Notice: The phone systems at the County Administrative Building and the Courthouse are down due to a Spectrum outage. Technicians are working on the issue. There is currently no estimated time of repair. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

UPDATE - 4/14/26

The phone system at the County Administrative Building is still undergoing maintenance and callers may experience difficulty getting through to County offices. Technicians are working diligently to return the system to its normal operating state.

NOTICE: Please note the following information regarding County operations for the week of April 13th-17th.

1. The Cherokee County Probate Office will be closed on Monday, April 13th, and Tuesday, April 14th. The office will reopen on Wednesday, April 15th, at its new location at 373 East Main Street in Centre. All other county offices will be operate on their normal schedules.

2. The phone system at the County Administrative Building will be offline at various times on Monday, April 13th, as technicians perform maintenance on the phone equipment.

3. The Cherokee County Revenue Commission Office will be closed on Friday, April 17th for staff training.

The Cherokee County Commission is now accepting applications for SEASONAL workers at the Highway Department. Applicants who possess a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver License shall be hired at a rate of $14 per hour and those who do not possess a CDL shall be hired at a rate of $13 per hour.

All county offices and the courthouse will be closed tomorrow, January 26th, due to the potential for hazardous driving conditions in the county. Offices will open at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 27th.

Tomorrow’s meeting of the County Commission has been postponed until Monday, February 9th at 10 AM.

Also, jury service that was scheduled for Tuesday at 8:15 AM will now begin at 11:15 AM.
