To all the teachers who go above and beyond, we see you, we appreciate you, and we are so grateful for everything you do. 💛

We hope you take a moment this to tell a teacher how much they mean to you. A simple thank you can go a long way.

You may have heard the term “Early Intervention (EI) provider”. What does that mean and who falls under that role? This blog will answer those questions and many more.

Over time, toxic stress can affect the brain development of infants and toddlers and increase the risk of long-term health challenges, including heart disease, mental health problems and learning difficulties.

The strongest buffer for a baby is a stable, nurturing relationship. But caregivers need support to make that possible.

One little trick that ends power struggles (from our friend and early childhood specialist Prerna Richards) If You Are an Early Educator ...

Children (just like adults!) want to feel like they have some say in their day. When they do not, they push back hard.

Instead of jumping into a power struggle, try offering real, simple choices:

“Would you like to pick up the blocks or the trucks?”
“You can line up walking or hopping. Your choice.”

You are setting the boundary and giving them ownership.

If they still refuse, stay calm and say, “If you do not choose, I will choose for you, and you might not like my choice, so here is your chance!”

That is KLFF in action: Kind, Loving, Firm, and Fair. When children feel empowered, the resistance fades, and your calm returns.

Your goal isn’t to “win” the battle against this child. It’s to give them a sense of ownership and belonging.

When children feel seen, heard, and respected, the pushback starts to fade.

❤ This little one reminds me every day that children (and adults) don’t want to control us; they just want to feel like they have a little control too. When we give them choices, and we give them calm!!
