Riverside Fire Authority provides emergency response services to approximately 26,000 citizens residing throughout the 184 square miles of Centralia, Hanaford Valley, Seminary Hill, Cooks Hill, Lincoln Creek Valley, Independence Valley and Garrard Creek. The Riverside Fire Authority is comprised of a full time career staff and a diverse group of community based volunteer personnel. Hydrate, wear sunscreen and remember our local rivers and lake waters are COLD. Wear a life jacket. ALSO this weekend - expect more significant delays on I5 both North and Southbound. Choose other routes to avoid heavy traffic. Enjoy the sunshine and be safe!

As you can see from the graphic, temps are on the rise. Our local waterways are still cold and will remain so. Please remember to wear a life jacket when you are in, on or near our cold waterways.

Wear sunscreen - drink lots of water and provide your outdoor animal friends access to plenty of cold water too.

A THIRTY DEGREE jump in high temp in less than a week was not on our bingo card!!!

I guess it wouldn't be PNW if we were not wondering whether it might rain for graduations, June outdoor weddings and little league baseball games??!!! U.S. National Weather Service (NWS) is predicting the potential for thunderstorms both Friday and Saturday. Fingers crossed that outlook changes.

When your brother is a volunteer firefighter on Touch a Truck Day at School!!! ALSO Pre-school Tour Centralia ECEAP. No pictures of kiddos spraying water because it was just too much fun to watch!

This week has been busy! Touch a Truck at 5 Elementary Schools all week! Enjoyed talking with students about our apparatus and work - as this school year winds down! Looking forward to seeing more students today!

Thankful for our amazing career and volunteer EMS staff, our MSO, EMS training cadre and our MPD. We appreciate all you do and your dedication to this community. EMS week has been recognized since 1974. Each day of the week an opportunity to focus on a different facet of EMS. Today the RFA Peer Support Group spoke at Volunteer drill about their work and contact/referral methodology.
As part of Education day - all EMS certifications require continuing education, skill based practical evaluations and lecture/online training. Making sure our crews have the best foundation for their service is critical to our success.
Additionally, RFA participates in local schools to help students consider the possibility of an EMS related career. Centralia HS CTE and other vocational offerings are available for local students to learn more about medical professions and pathways to achieve certification.
