Economic Alliance of Lewis County Economic Alliance of Lewis County recruits employers that increase economic vitality in the community

Recruit
Our main mission is to persuade businesses to locate, expand, and remain in this area rather than in any other location. Our marketing efforts are focused on specific industry strengths our community has: wood products, food processing, glass, plastics, chemicals, telecommunications, and healthcare. Our outreach efforts to recruit these companies include: electronic advertising, search eng

ine optimization, trade shows, direct e-mailing, and other methods. Retain
Business retention and expansion (BRE) is a core program of the Lewis Economic Development Council. This program is designed to keep existing businesses in the community. To do this we reach out to business districts, commercial & industrial areas, and specific industries throughout the county and learn how to help these companies stay in our area. These visits often begin with the history of the organization, include tours to better understand the business, and end with requests to assist their business. Expand
The BRE program is also designed to help exiting businesses expand their operations in our community. Like the Retention part of the program we reach out to business districts, commercial and industrial areas, and specific industries. Our expansion visits are focused though on providing any needed assistance to help the business grow. This often includes helping companies find properties, connecting potential deals for their business growth, or even helping them make connections to save money and be able to hire more employees.

Today marked the official ribbon cutting for the United Learning Center — a project built through collaboration, vision, and an incredible commitment to the future of Lewis County.

The Economic Alliance of Lewis County is especially proud to recognize our Executive Director, Todd Chaput, whose leadership helped turn this vision into reality. Todd was not only one of the original minds behind the United Learning Center, but also served as the project manager, working tirelessly alongside partners including the Bezos Academy, United Way of Lewis County, Boys & Girls Club of Lewis County, Discover! Children's Museum, City of Centralia, and Cascade Community Healthcare.

This project represents what is possible when organizations come together with a shared goal of supporting children, families, and the future workforce of our community. We are incredibly proud of Todd and grateful for every partner who helped make the United Learning Center possible.

Yesterday we celebrated the ribbon cutting of the new EV Charging Station in Mineral — now one of the most scenic places in Washington to recharge your vehicle.

The Economic Alliance of Lewis County is proud to have played a role in bringing this project to life through Discover Lewis County, the Alliance’s tourism program. Thanks to a $50,000 Washington State Tourism Grant secured through Discover Lewis County, this project became a reality alongside dedicated community partners including Lewis County Transit, Commissioner Scott Brummer, and the Mineral Lake Market.

Special recognition goes to Executive Director Todd Chaput, whose leadership and commitment to expanding tourism infrastructure helped move this project forward from idea to ribbon cutting.

Projects like this support economic development, strengthen rural communities, and improve the visitor experience throughout Lewis County. Whether travelers are heading toward Mount Rainier or exploring East Lewis County, Mineral is now an even more welcoming stop along the journey.
