Today, our school celebrated Peter H. Reynolds’ The Dot by wearing polka dots and participating in fun activities that encouraged creativity, imagination, and making our mark!

We loved seeing our Cougars embrace the power of a single dot and discover that everyone has something special to share. CAA shines! ✨🎨

Today, our CAA family came together to honor and remember on Patriot Day. 🇺🇸

At 8:46 a.m., our school observed a moment of silence as we reflected on the events of September 11 and the lives forever changed that day. Throughout the school, students participated in meaningful activities designed to help them learn, reflect, and remember.

Dr. Greer also led a special writing lesson with all 5th grade classes, using excerpts from Ground Zero to pair with their current study of narrative writing.

We are grateful for the opportunity to teach our students not only about history, but also about the strength, compassion, and resilience that continue to shape our country. 🇺🇸❤️

🌙✨ Learning doesn’t have to be a worksheet!

Our 2nd graders brought the phases of the moon to life through tableaus- using their bodies, creativity, and teamwork to show each phase of the lunar cycle. 🌑🌓🌕🌗

When students can move it, create it, and act it out, learning becomes something they experience, not just something they complete! 🎭🌙💫

Students becoming teachers 🧑‍🏫 ❤️

Students in Ms. Bauer’s class put their STEM skills on full display as they programmed and drove Sphero Indi cars! 🚗💡

Even our School Resource Officer, Officer Casey, wanted to join the fun! The students stepped into the role of teachers, showing him how to navigate the cars and cheering him on along the way!

It was a fun-filled Friday all around at Central! Our students had the incredible opportunity to hear from former Clemson and NFL football player Ricky Sapp who motivated us to dream BIG 🏈, then enjoyed a lunchtime concert from YAMS 🎶. And yes… one of our teachers even showed off her clogging skills with them! 💃🕺

Meanwhile, our teachers were treated to some delicious food from the Savory Sunflower food truck 🌻🚚

What a perfect way to send off our Cougars into a long weekend! 💛💙🐾

🚌💛 Safety First, Cougars! 💛🚌

Today, our students participated in a bus evacuation drill to practice what to do in an emergency and how to safely exit the bus. We are so thankful that our district makes student safety a top priority- not only at school, but wherever our students are learning and traveling!

Our kindergarteners also participated in our First Riders program, where they learned important bus safety skills and what it takes to be a SUPER RIDER! ⭐🚌

We’re proud of our students for listening, learning, and practicing these important skills! Safety is always a team effort, and we’re grateful for everyone who helps keep our Cougars safe. 💙🐾

Our third graders became nature detectives as they explored our forest! 🌿🔍 Students searched for plants, insects, fungi, animal clues, and other signs of life while learning about habitats and how living things interact with their environment. Hands-on exploration helped bring science to life as they observed the amazing biodiversity all around them. What a wonderful day of discovery in the great outdoors! 🍄🐞🌳
