🕷️ Found a Tick? Here's What to Do.
If you find a tick attached to your skin, remove it as soon as possible using clean, fine-tipped tweezers.
✔️ Grasp the tick as close to the skin as possible.
✔️ Pull upward with steady, even pressure.
✔️ Clean the bite area and your hands with soap and water or rubbing alcohol.
✔️ Watch for symptoms such as a rash, fever, or flu-like illness in the days and weeks that follow.
❌ Do NOT use petroleum jelly, nail polish, matches, or other home remedies to try to make the tick detach.
Not sure what to do next? The CDC's Tick Bite Bot can help guide you through tick removal and determine whether you should seek medical care.

As you enjoy the outdoors this summer, remember to check yourself, children, and pets for ticks after spending time in grassy, brushy, or wooded areas.
