Central City FFA members had a great time at the Iowa FFA State Leadership Conference! Here’s a recap of our trip! 🤩

We left Central City on Sunday afternoon and headed to Ames to complete conference registration and set up our Chapter Exhibit which was made by Madison and Haylee. They highlighted our Easter Egg Hunt! (Pic below) After registration and set up, we had dinner at Outback Steakhouse! 🍴

Monday started out at Hilton Coliseum! Members enjoyed the morning watching the FFA talent show, visiting the career show, and viewing other chapter exhibits. We all had lunch together and then watched the 1st General Session which featured a keynote address from Kevin Wanzer! 🎤

After the 1st session, we went and had a group activity at TopGolf and then enjoyed a delicious dinner at Cheesecake Factory! ⛳️

Tuesday, members were up early for a busy day at Convention! Jayce and William took the Greenhand Quiz and Peyton took the Chapter Quiz! ✏️

Haylee and Helen served as our chapter delegates- they voted on business and the 2026-2027 Iowa FFA State Officers! 🗳️

During the 4th General Session, Madison received her Iowa Degree!! ⭐️ (Pic below)

We all had a great time and can’t wait for next year!!! 🤩

THANK YOU to everyone who attended our first Central City FFA Easter Egg Hunt! 🥚🌸🐰

We owe some thank you’s to the following people/businesses for helping us make this event what it was!

⭐️ Hy-Vee- for donating candy to fill the eggs.
⭐️ Thrivent- for giving us a monetary donation to purchase candy for the eggs and the water/juice that was at the bake sale.
⭐️ North Linn Fish and Game Club- for donating 1,000+ plastic eggs!
⭐️ Parlor on Main- for donating free ice cream tokens for the GOLDEN EGGS!
⭐️ Denise McGovern- for getting us in contact with the Easter Bunny!!
⭐️ Jeremy Hora and Heidi McCulloch Hora- for helping with set up and running the bake sale.
⭐️ FFA Officers and Members - for baking items for the bake sale and gathering donations of plastic eggs.
⭐️ Central City Community- for showing up for our event!!!

2025 FFA Feed a Family!

The Central City FFA Chapter is asking for donations of canned goods(fruits and vegetables), juice, canned/packet gravy, boxed desserts, stuffing mix, and instant mashed potatoes. We are in need of enough donations to sponsor 12-15 boxes consisting of a delicious Thanksgiving meal for families in the Central City Community School district.

Donations can be dropped off in Mr. Lambertsen’s (Ag room), and the elementary or high school office until Friday, November 21st. We will not be accepting money donations. We appreciate your support!!
