As Halloween approaches, the Central City Police Department wants to ensure everyone has a fun and safe night of trick-or-treating! Here are a few reminders to help keep our community safe:

🎃 For Parents & Kids:
•Walk on sidewalks and cross streets only at crosswalks.

•Carry flashlights or glow sticks and add reflective tape to costumes to stay visible.

•Avoid masks that block vision — face paint is a safer alternative.

•Check all treats before eating them.

🎃 For Drivers:
•Stay alert and drive slowly through neighborhoods.

•Watch for children crossing streets or walking along roadways.

•Avoid distractions — put the phone down while driving.

🎃 For Homeowners:
•Keep walkways well-lit and clear of obstacles.

•If you don’t plan to hand out candy, turn off your porch light.

The Central City Police Department will have officers patrolling throughout the evening to help keep everyone safe. Let’s work together to make this a spooktacular and safe Halloween for all! 🎃👮‍♂️

Join us on October 11, 2025, for the Mental Health & Su***de Prevention 5K Walk/Run in support of Mental Health Matters for Muhlenberg.

The event will take place from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Rails to Trails in Central City.

This event is more than a walk-it's a reminder that every life holds value and purpose. Your story matters, and so do you.

Mental health challenges can touch anyone, but no one has to face them alone. Taking time to care for yourself, reach out for help, or simply show up in support of others makes a difference. Together, we can raise awareness, promote hope, and remind everyone that self-worth isn't measured by struggles-it's strengthened by the courage to keep going.
