n 2025, CHI St. Francis awarded the Central City Ambulance essential, life-saving equipment through their Ticket to Win Event grant that is available annually to local EMS agencies.

The equipment purchased by the Central City Ambulance includes 3 portable, battery operated suction units for each ambulance as well as a new portable pulse oximetry reader, replacing one that lasted many years. We are eternally grateful for these grants and partnerships with area hospitals and businesses that allow us to purchase modern equipment to provide top quality care during medical emergencies.

Pictured with 2 of the 3 portable suction units and the new pulse oximetry reader are George Hill (left), DanYel Hill (middle) and Katherine Erickson (right). These 3 members of the Central City Ambulance are also standing in front of the newest ambulance we took delivery of and recently put into frontline service. Without this critical lifesaving equipment and the countless hours of training we do, we could not provide the best care possible to the City of Central City and the surrounding communities.

Today, we give a HUGE thanks and a MASSIVE shout out to our dispatchers!
They are the 1st voice you hear when you call 911. They are skilled at multi-tasking!
They expertertly get the information needed and simultaneously relay that information to the appropriate responders to ensure your emergency is met with the right resources.
They keep track of every responder while out on calls and have our back when we need them. We could not do what we do without them.
Thank you to our Emergency Dispatchers!

Happy Easter!
This weekend has been particularly busy.
We have completed 2 standbys at the fairgrounds for an event and are up to 7 medical calls.
Our volunteers have shown excellent teamwork and dedication in ensuring all these calls have been answered, despite it being a holiday weekend.
We hope you all are enjoying your egg hunts and yummy dinners! Stay safe and have fun on this beautiful day!

Old drugs from a past surgery?
Cleaning out a past family members house?
Have prescription drugs that you aren't using anymore?
Maybe you just bought a house and found prescription meds that aren't yours?
Doesn't matter the situation, this is a good way to get rid of them and make sure they are properly disposed of so they don't fall into anyone else's hands.

Its a BEAUTIFUL day!
After running a call this afternoon, our crew sat down together and completed our truck checks together.
We had some new members respond today so during truck check we were able to debrief and go over the call.
We did some operation training and went through the entire truck and helped our newer members learn where things were and help them solidify this knowledge.
We all try and do this regularly so that when the call comes, its muscle memory knowing where things are.
It was a great day for some team bonding and getting to share knowledge and help sharpen each other.
Hope you go out and enjoy this beautiful day!
