Citizens Committee for Centerville City Schools On November 5, 2024, Centerville City Schools will be on the ballot with Issue 31, a 3.9 mill property tax levy. We cannot allow this to happen.

This levy seeks voter approval for crucial operating funds to preserve the quality of education, programs, and services in one of our community’s most valuable assets—our public school system. After 2 Failed Levies: The district cut 48 staff, froze salaries for all employees, eliminated programs, and even raised fees on families to save $3.5 million

Without Issue 31: The district will be forced t

o make more significant cuts which will results in changes that include, but are not limited to, fewer arts and sports programs, overcrowded classrooms, limited busing availability forcing some children to walk up to 2 miles to school, reduced safety and mental health services at a time when the need is higher than ever before, and the elimination of the Voyager After School Program. Centerville City Schools is developing a long-range Master Facilities Plan, and your input is important. Even if you don’t currently have children in our schools, our schools impact the entire community. Strong schools help support property values, attract families and businesses, provide gathering spaces, and contribute to the quality of life that makes Centerville a great place to live.
