“Everything about these boxes is awesome!” exclaimed a happy first grader at PVS 📦💗

While school was still in session, students in Jodi Gonzalez, Christina Poulter, Amy Noel, and Jamie Witt’s first grade Pink Neighborhood classrooms at PVS came together to showcase a powerful learning experience tied to their unit on the past, present, and future. Students created “Memory Box” dioramas and personal timelines sharing meaningful moments from their lives—such as welcoming new siblings, family vacations, celebrations, and other special memories.

Then, they got to show them off! Students rotated through classrooms to present their work to peers and teachers, practicing speaking, listening, asking questions, and giving thoughtful feedback. This hands-on experience strengthened communication skills while helping students reflect on how their lives have changed over time.

A joyful celebration of learning, storytelling, and community across the Pink Neighborhood!

Summer is here, and while families enjoy a well-earned break, we’re beginning an important conversation about the future of Centerville schools through the Build Elk Strong Master Facility Planning process.

We'd love to hear from you and we hope you’ll take just five minutes (or less!) to complete the survey. We want you to help shape the future of our schools.

Hundreds of years of service. One special evening. 🖤💛

At our most recent Board of Education meeting, we had the honor of celebrating many of our retirees for their dedication to Centerville City Schools.

Families, friends, staff and community members gathered to recognize and celebrate our retirees, while the Centerville High School jazz combo performed.

Together, these men and women represent generations of commitment and thousands of student lives impacted along the way.

Thank you for everything you have poured into our schools, our students and our community. Your legacy will always be part of Centerville.

Thank you also to the performers who included musicians from all three Centerville jazz ensembles along with guest drummer Jim Brooks. This talented group is under the direction of Mr. Bill Burns.

*Not all retirees were present but these photos represent the spirit of the evening.
