Fort Boggy State Park - Texas Parks and Wildlife In early 1840, the John Byrns and Christopher C. Stanley families established the first settlement near Boggy Creek.

The settlers built Fort Boggy, a palisade fort, to protect them from frontier raids and food shortages.

Sometimes the best moments out here happen when nature decides to show off a little bit
Every now and then, the breeze settles down, the water goes still, and the world above gets perfectly mirrored below. It’s like the park whispers, “Hold on… make sure to get my good side.”
If you catch it at just the right time, the reflection on the water looks so serene you’d swear the whole scene was a painting

Now that we’re at the end…. How many people have already noticed these pictures are flipped upside down?
If you look closely you can see some ripples in the water which is oriented to be where the sky usually is

During a morning walk along the lake, right as the sun was pulling everything into its molten grip, these beautiful flowers were peeking out!
Purple Bindweed (Wild Morning Glory) can thrive in hot, dry conditions, creeps its way across vast areas, and blooms when other flowers don't make it.

So, the next time you're having a long day, the heat is wearing you down, or you need a pick me up, take a moment to look at the finer details in the natural world around you. You might be surprised by what can thrive even under the toughest conditions. 😉🌱
