Today, the department prepared a lunch to celebrate the graduation of Officer Tavyonne King. Officer King will be graduating from Albany State University on Saturday with her Masters Degree in Criminal Justice, with a concentration in Law Enforcement.

They may not be physically with us on every call, but they are always there. Today we would like to salute each and every dispatcher as we celebrate Communications Week 2026.

Their voices are the first voice we hear and the last as we leave calls. They are our light at the end of the tunnel.

Chief Cedric Duncan, along with Lieutenant Lawrence Spurgeon and Lieutenant Jessica Escobedo visited the Eagle Springs Elementary School for the Annual Career Day. Chief Duncan did a presentation on what it takes to become a Police Officer. His first instructions to all the students was "to be good and complete all the requirements to graduate high school."

The students had lots of question and Chief Duncan stated that "he sees some future officers in the school."

In the first Council Meeting in March, Mayor J. Micheal Evans signed a Proclamation recognizing all the financial professionals in the City of Centerville. The week of March 16 - 20 is Government Financial Professional Appreciation Week. Chief Duncan , along with Records Clerk Lanisha Graves, delivered sweets to all the financial professionals in the city.
