🧰⚙️ Over the past two days, our Career & Technical Education teachers came together to learn, collaborate, share ideas, and strengthen their craft—all with one goal in mind: creating the best possible opportunities for our students.

🤖 From exploring innovative instructional strategies and AI tools to discussing assessment practices, industry partnerships, student engagement, and workforce readiness, our educators demonstrated a commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in CTE.

🤝 A special thank you to our presenters, industry partners, administrators, and teachers who contributed their time, expertise, and enthusiasm to make this retreat a success. The conversations, connections, and action plans developed over these two days will have a lasting impact on classrooms and students across St. Mary Parish.

🌟 CTE Teacher Retreat – Day 1 Recap 🌟

🥳 What an incredible start to our CTE Teacher Retreat!

🍎 Today, CTE teachers, school and district leaders, and community partners came together to collaborate, learn, and strengthen our shared commitment to providing high-quality Career and Technical Education opportunities for all students.

🧰 We were honored to hear from nationally recognized speaker Mark Perna, who challenged us to think differently about student engagement, workforce readiness, and creating meaningful pathways to success for every learner. Participants also gained valuable insights from our economic development partners, who shared current workforce trends and regional opportunities that will help shape the future of CTE programs in our schools.

⚙️ The day concluded with industry roundtable discussions, where educators and business leaders engaged in meaningful conversations about workforce needs, program alignment, and strengthening partnerships that connect classroom learning to real-world careers.

🤝The collaboration, innovation, and passion demonstrated throughout the day highlighted the power of working together to prepare students for success beyond graduation. Thank you to everyone who contributed their expertise, ideas, and enthusiasm. We look forward to building on today's momentum as we continue investing in the future of our students and communities.

➡️ St. Mary Parish Public Schools is excited to offer the ACT Prep Summer Booster to help students prepare for the July 11, 2026 ACT Test!

🗓️ Session Dates (1:00 PM–4:00 PM):
🏫 Berwick High School (BHS): July 6–7
🏫 Franklin High School (FHS): July 8–9

✅ Open to students entering grades 9–11.
✅ Must provide proof of registration for the July 11 ACT.
✅ Must attend a St. Mary Parish public high school.
✅ Students will be assigned a location based on availability and will attend one 2-day session.

📌 Deadline to register for this opportunity: June 10, 2026.

Our AHEC Summer Program is officially underway! ☀️🩺

🍎 These students are spending their summer gaining valuable real-world experience through clinical rotations at Teche Health, Bayou Bend Health System, and Ochsner St. Mary. Throughout the program, they will job shadow healthcare professionals, explore careers in the medical field, and develop skills that will help prepare them for future success.

🎓 Upon successful completion of the program, students will earn internship credit on their high school transcripts—a great opportunity to get a head start on a healthcare career while still in high school!
We are excited to see all they accomplish this summer and grateful to our healthcare partners for investing in the next generation of healthcare professionals.

➡️ St. Mary Parish junior high and high school athletes are encouraged to schedule their Annual Wellness Exam and Sports Physical through Teche Health’s School-Based Health Center!
