🚔📵 A text. A glance. A few seconds.
That’s all it takes for lives to change forever.

Distracted driving continues to be one of the leading causes of serious crashes across the country. Whether it’s texting, scrolling, eating, or adjusting your GPS — your attention belongs on the road.

✅ Put the phone down
✅ Keep your eyes up
✅ Arrive alive

Our officers are committed to keeping our roads safe, but we need your help too. Make the choice to drive distraction-free every trip, every time.

In April, our Public Safety Cadet Post participated in the annual statewide competition held in Willoughby, Ohio. The event consisted of a full day of realistic, scenario-based exercises designed to simulate real-world calls for service commonly encountered by law enforcement officers.

Our cadets represented the department with professionalism, teamwork, and dedication throughout the competition, earning numerous compliments from evaluators and event staff. Both teams achieved top-10 finishes in multiple scenarios, and our cadets earned a first-place overall finish in the Crisis Intervention scenario with a perfect score. Additionally, the post placed among the top 10 overall teams in the state — an outstanding accomplishment that reflects the hard work and commitment of each cadet involved.

The Public Safety Cadet Program is open to individuals ages 14–20 who are interested in learning more about careers in law enforcement and public safety. For additional information about joining the program, please contact Sergeant Parker at 937-433-7661.
