Hmmm...Oakwood is #6, Centerville is #60...

Something isn't adding up here.

U.S. News and World Report released their 2024 Best High Schools rankings this week, and Centerville High School is once again ranked in the top 10% of public high schools in the country! 🤩 CHS also moved up eight spots in Ohio compared to last year.

This couldn't be accomplished without the hard work of our students and staff at every level across the district, as well as the support of our families and the greater Centerville-Washington Township community!

Centerville City Schools is asking for ANOTHER levy March 19.

Are you sick to death of taxation?

Do you get an extra 73 days off per calendar year like staff?

Do you make more than the median average household as a single teacher?

Does your superintendent make $164K/year?

Are your bills higher?

Did your house value go up significantly?

Do you have to live within your budget?

When will they stop asking for more money?

The answer is...they won't.

With a district the size of Centerville, second largest in the state actually, then why is it that we are farming out any of these programs to other districts especially when those programs are limited to only 2 Centerville students per grade per year? That's not opportunity or social media bragging rights, that's meeting state requirements only.

Even in house programs have caps on the number allowed in. Shouldn't every student who wants in a block program be given the chance to?

Did you know school districts in Ohio are required to provide career technical education for students? Juniors and seniors at Centerville High School have the opportunity to participate in 19 different programs that are designed to help them discover and explore career options.

In the 1970s, Centerville partnered with the Kettering and Oakwood school districts to create a career education compact, which means state funding earmarked for career education directly benefits students in our three high schools, rather than going to the Miami Valley CTC.

According to school board member David Roer and school treasurer Laura Sauber, "It's time to start considering another tax levy."

When you can say this without batting an eye, claim a $34M budget surplus, and the tax payers just got suckered with a levy renewal in April, all the while prices are climbing for everything in our world, you might BE the problem.
